Why Self Care Is So Important For Professional Women
Professional women are often times overachievers who strive for nothing less than perfection. Whilst this attitude can be helpful for professional success, many women overlook and neglect themselves in favour of their career or business.
As your career or business is only as powerful and as strong as you are, it's important to practice self-care. Don't think so? Think again.
Below are a four key reasons why self-care is crucial:
1. Boosts Confidence
Caring for yourself has been shown to improve confidence in business, in the boardroom and at home. When you're more confident, others take notice.
2. Learn to Trust Yourself
Maintaining self-care builds self-trust. When you trust yourself, you're able to take risks and make decisions more comfortably.

When you're more confident and comfortable with yourself, you'll be able to get more done. You won't be second guessing yourself, spending time worrying about outcomes or what others think.
4. Helps Prevent Burnout
If you’re an overachiever, the chances are that you’re frequently burned out. Whilst occasional holidays or ‘unplugged’ weekends can help, you probably aren't able to take them too often. Practicing self-care all year round helps keep burnouts at bay until your next break.
In a world that's more demanding than ever, I recommend that you create some positive habits to incorporate self-care into your daily life and schedule them in your diary. For some, it may be diet, exercise or meditation and for other’s it may be spa treatments, time with friends or complete solitude.
